It was here at the school which had a highly specialised music, theatre, sports and art departments that Young’s foundational skills as a singer, actor, dancer, pianist, and saxophonist were fostered. Motivated by the desire to expand her skillset to have the technical skills to articulate her creative visions, Young went on to study at the prestigious Abbey Road Institute, where she then cut her teeth in the recording world and trained in Music Production and Sound Engineering. Alongside this, she also undertook a training placement with BBC Radio 3 on the Open Music scheme where she spent time training in the BBC’s technical production department and working with in collaboration with other trainees on the inaugral Open Music Prom (BBC Proms 2022).

The end of her training signalled the start of a phase of experimentation for Young. Taking her foundational classical music training, and combining that with her knowledge of electronic synthesis and production, In the years since, she has developed a cinematic stylistic sound and refined her skills as a performer, producer, writer and audio engineer to create a practice that marries highly skilled musical performance with technological creative methods. Working in collaboration with forward thinking artists working in music, film, visual art and beyond, Young is passionate about excellent storytelling and has become known for creating highly explorative and immersive sonic journeys.
